First Set of Eggs Candled


For those that are following our 4-H Embryology Project that we are conducting with all 3rd grade classrooms and one 4th, please enjoy these pictures of the first eggs that were candled yesterday Sunday, March 24th at the Lichty House.

Classroom eggs will be candled starting this Friday, March 29th. Look for more pictures soon.

4-H Spaghetti Dinner great success, Friday, March 22, 2019









The 4-H Spaghetti Dinner sponsored by the Pulaski County 4-H Livestock Club and hosted by Fairlawn Presbyterian Church was a huge success on Friday, March 22, 2019. Thank you Fairlawn Presbyterian Church.   

And Thank You so much to our great community for coming out to support us while also enjoying some good fellowship and food.   

We are excited to put the proceeds of this event, along with our Peanut Sales and Beach House Raffle, to good use as we plan our 4-H Summer Agriculture Tour of Virginia, June 24-30, 2019.

Time for Chickens

It's time for incubators to be set today with Shaver White and ISA Brown chicken eggs supplied to us from the Hendrix - Brickland Hatchery in Blackstone, Virginia.

Morgan Paulette and Chris Lichty have made it safely to the Brickland Hatchery in Blackstone, Virginia, to pick 150 eggs for the 4-H Embryology Project being conducted with all Pulaski 3rd Grade and one 4th Grade Classrooms. 90 Shaver White and 60 ISA Brown Eggs will be set Wednesday, March 20. Chicks will begin hatching Tuesday, April 9.

From noon to noon Tuesday, March 19 to Wednesday, March 20, Virginia Tech is hosting its annual 24-hour giving challenge to give supporters of the VT community -- including Virginia Cooperative Extension and VA 4-H -- a chance to come together for a single, impactful day of fundraising.
