Pulaski County 4-H Camp is now
accepting Adult Leader, Counselor and Counselor-in-Training (CIT) applications
for the 2019 Pulaski 4-H Camp, June 3-7, 2019.

Virginia Cooperative Extension, Pulaski, at 980-7761. 4-H Camp Leader Applications for CIT's,
Teen Counselors and Adult Leaders are also online at http://pulaski4h.blogspot.com/p/4-h-camp.html. Application
will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis, interviews scheduled and
positions offered. Interviews will be
conducted for all CIT and First Year Counselor and thereafter as needed.
Minimum Requirements for a 4-H Camp Teen Counselor
1.
Be 14 years of age or older by January 1 of the current year (should be older
based on experience and maturity, 14 years of age is the absolute minimum age);
2. Have formal or informal recommendations by camp staff, counselors, and/or
peers in their respective communities; 3. Be a positive role model and display
maturity (based on the judgment of the unit staff); 4. Be trained prior
(minimum of 24 hours) to the camping experience in which he/she plans to serve;
5. Attend a 4-H Center sponsored or unit sponsored leadership development training. Additional recommended criteria: 6. Be an
active 4-H participant in the camping unit, having at least 2 years camping
experience with a youth service organization.
Minimum Requirements for a 4-H Camp Counselor-in-Training
1.
Be 13 years of age or older by January 1 of the current year; 2. Have formal or
informal recommendations by camp staff, counselors, and/or peers in their
respective communities; 3. Be a positive role model and display maturity for
the position (based on the judgment of the unit staff); 4. Be willing to serve
as a CIT with the plan to return in the future as a 4-H Teen Counselor; 5. Be
trained prior (minimum of 24 hours) to the camping experience in which he/she
plans to serve; and 6. May not have sole supervision of campers at any time;
and 7. Attend a 4-H Center sponsored or unit sponsored leadership development training. Additional recommended criteria: 8. Be an
active 4-H participant in the camping unit, having at least 2 years camping
experience with a youth service organization.
Minimum Requirements
for a 4-H Camp Adult Leader
1. Be 19 years of age or older by January
1 of the current year; 2. Have formal or informal recommendations by camp
staff, counselors, and/or peers in their respective communities; 3. Be a
positive role model and display maturity (based on judgment of the unit staff);
4. Be trained prior (minimum of
24 hours) to
the camping experience in which he/she plans to serve; 5. Attend a 4-H center
sponsored or unit sponsored leadership development training; submit to a
Criminal/Sexual Offender Background Check.
Additional Recommended Criteria: 6. Be an active 4-H participant in the camping
unit, having at least 2 years camping experience with a youth service
organization.
