Stephanie Covey started her
4-H career by joining Pulaski County 4-H Cloverbud Club, for youth ages 5-8,
while in Pre-School at Critzer Elementary in 2005. Since Pre-School, Stephanie has been quite active in Pulaski County 4-H and
has participated in many in and out of school 4-H activities.
While
in 4th and 5th grade, Stephanie participated in
the 4-H Dramatic Reading Contest and received a blue ribbon for both. In 5th
grade, Stephanie proudly participated in the 4-H
Share the Fun Showcase and received a blue ribbon at Pulaski Elementary.
At
the start of 6th grade, Stephanie excitedly became
a member of Pulaski County’s 4-H Teens In Action! Club, a leadership and
service learning club, for youth 6th-12th grade. As a
first year member, Stephanie actively participated in fundraisers, meetings, leadership
events and retreats, service projects and team building activities. During 7th
grade, Stephanie became a 4-H Camp Counselor In
Training for 4-H Camp and was awarded Best 4-H Camp Counselor In Training. Additionally,
Stephanie held the role as President for 4-H Teens
In Action!. Also in 7th grade, Stephanie became a part
of the Pulaski County 4-H Shooting Education Club, the 4-H Sharp Shooters.
In
8th and 9th grade, Stephanie was a Little Pack
Leader at 4-H Camp. She was awarded best 4-H Camp Teen Counselor both years. Also in 9th grade, Stephanie
was the Vice-President and the Secretary of the 4-H Teens in Action!. While in the
9th grade, Stephanie participated at the Spring
Air 4-H Shooting competition at Smith Mountain Lake and placed with Bronze. In
10th grade and 11th grade, Stephanie was the
Bobcat Big Pack Leader for 4-H Camp. Since
10th grade, she has held the role as President of Pulaski County 4-H Teens In
Action! Club in addition to providing leadership to 4-H Cloverbud Club, 4-H
Adopt A Spot, 4-H County Dramatic Reading, 4-H County Share the Fun, 4-H Area
Contest, New River Valley Fair 4-H Youth Exhibits, to name some over her many
involvements.
……..and on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, Stephanie was awarded with the highest 4-H honor and award by becoming a Virginia 4-H All Star. Stephanie was tapped at the 4-H All Star Ceremony held on the beautiful campus of Virginia Tech, in front of the War Memorial Chapel.
